Basketball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Contra Costa Christian kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines and fell 58-22. The Cougars lost against the Wolverines in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 51-45 score last time.

San Francisco Waldorf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Kite led the charge by going 6-for-11 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Aviv Zukerman, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 12 points.

Coming up, Contra Costa Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Averroes at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for San Francisco Waldorf, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Rio Lindo Adventist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
