Basketball Recap: Burroughs Takes a Loss

Burroughs won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Sunday. They took a blow against the Lutheran Cougars, falling 63-30. The match marked the Bombers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Burroughs lost, don't look at Breaunna Ward. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points and three steals. Ward is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Burroughs moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Burroughs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-38 defeat against St. Joseph's Academy on the 30th. As for Lutheran, they will take on Hannibal at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th.
