Clovis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Frontier 27-25. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Titans are ranked 96th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clovis West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against St. Joseph on Friday as they made off with a 28-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Clovis better keep an eye on Jamar (JJ) Howard. He was instrumental in Clovis West's win, rushing for 147 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 185 yards on ten of 21 attempts. Those 147 rushing yards gave Howard a new career-high. 86 of Howard's passing yards were hauled in by Andrew Garcia.

One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Golden Eagles' Aamir Wright, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
