Basketball Game Preview: Barnesville Shamrocks vs. Edison Wildcats

Barnesville has gone a perfect 3-0 against Edison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Shamrocks will square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Barnesville saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against Sandy Valley by a score of 54-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shamrocks.

Barnesville found their leader in sophomore Lydia Welch, who shot 56% from the field on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Welch. Another player making a difference was Mallory Kiser, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Barnesville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are 8-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Edison strolled past Cameron with points to spare two weeks ago, taking the game 51-36.

Barnesville's record is now 11-12. As for Edison, their record now sits at 19-2.

Everything went Barnesville's way against Edison in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, as Barnesville made off with a 40-18 victory. Will the Shamrocks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
