Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Bulls vs. Kell Longhorns

The Northwestern Bulls just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Kell Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Northwestern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Northwestern will head into Friday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Harvest Prep on Friday. Northwestern breezed by Harvest Prep to the tune of 88-52. The Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 36 points or more this season.

Northwestern found their leader in sophomore Zacuras Dawson, who went 13 of 16 on his way to 29 points. Dawson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jamiro Smith was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Kell is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Western. Kell took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western. The match marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northwestern's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Kell, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.
