Chautauqua Lake is 8-1 against Frewsburg since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will challenge the Bears at 5:00 p.m. Chautauqua Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Chautauqua Lake came out on top against Cassadaga Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run third inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cayzlee Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Chautauqua Lake got a massive performance out of Jillan Miller, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Lucy Gates was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.
Chautauqua Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Frewsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 9-6 to Westfield. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Presleigh Stelmack was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Elysse Gruber, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Chautauqua Lake picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Frewsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Frewsburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chautauqua Lake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Frewsburg, though, as they've only averaged .355. Will they be able to contain Chautauqua Lake's hitters?
Chautauqua Lake was able to grind out a solid win over Frewsburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
