Baseball Recap: Briarcliff Has No Trouble Against Tuckahoe

Briarcliff was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Tuckahoe on Friday. The Bears put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-2 win. With that victory, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Aidan O'Malley looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Xander D'Onofrio was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Jesse Roth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Briarcliff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tuckahoe only posted an OBP of .310.

Briarcliff now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tuckahoe, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Briarcliff will head out to square off against Blind Brook at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tuckahoe, they will be playing at home against Valhalla at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
