The Pattonville Pirates will face off against the Central Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Pattonville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Pattonville barely beat Fox the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Warriors on Wednesday. Considering the Pirates have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Braylon Cook looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Cameron Crumble was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Hoerner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Pattonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Central and Notre Dame, and Central kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Thursday, sneaking past 4-2.
Caden Chenoweth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Chenoweth was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one double.
In other batting news, Zade Hickey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Jathan Spain was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
The win got Pattonville back to even at 9-9. As for Central, their record is now 11-8.
