Basketball Recap: Saluda Takes a Loss

Saluda lost against Strom Thurmond back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saluda Tigers fell to the Strom Thurmond Rebels 48-43.

Strom Thurmond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landen Jones, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points and six boards. Jones continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Walker, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Saluda's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Strom Thurmond, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Ninety Six the next time they take the court. Saluda will head out to face Ninety Six at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Strom Thurmond will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
