Carlsbad's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs. The Lancers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

Carlsbad walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-20.

San Dieguito Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Burr, who had 16 digs. Burr is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Carlsbad has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for San Dieguito Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Carlsbad will challenge rival Westview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe San Marcos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
