Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wasco walked away with it. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Kerman Lions 28-27. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions on Friday, too.

Jayven Hernandez threw for 106 yards and one TD. Jaden Rodriguez was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Hammie Lopez rushed for 45 yards.

Kerman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Torres, who threw for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Jorge Antunez helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards.

Wasco has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points over those games. As for Kerman, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Wasco will take on Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Kerman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
