Basketball Recap: Coral Shores Takes a Loss

Coral Shores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miami Christian Victors. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 615th, while the Victors are ranked 181st).

Coral Shores' defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Miami Christian, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Shores will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Palmer Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Miami Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
