Baseball Recap: East Columbus Comes Up Short

East Columbus lost against South Columbus back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. East Columbus fell 7-4 to South Columbus. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly three runs.

Mack Freeman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Braylon Waddell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for East Columbus and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for South Columbus, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

While East Columbus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
