Basketball Game Preview: Butler Bulldogs vs. Roswell Hornets

The Butler Bulldogs and the Roswell Hornets will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Butler is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Cherokee, who was ranked ninth at the time (Butler was ranked eighth). Butler took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cherokee on Thursday. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Defeat or not, Butler got some senior leadership from Brayla Harris and Rania Curry. Harris posted 22 points and five rebounds, while Curry earned 14 points and seven steals. Curry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Byrd, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Roswell suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Campbell 56-19. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Roswell and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Butler, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
