Apex Friendship had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Tuscola Mountaineers. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Luke Hemric looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Payne and Ajay Rychcik did most of the damage at the plate: Payne went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI, while Rychcik went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three runs gave Payne a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Fones, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Apex Friendship always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Apex Friendship pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscola, the loss snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Apex Friendship has already played their next match, a 10-4 victory against Asheville on the 3rd. As for Tuscola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Pisgah on the 4th.
