Basketball Game Preview: Buena Vista Demons vs. Salida Spartans

Buena Vista hasn't had much luck against Salida recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buena Vista Demons will face off against the Salida Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Buena Vista is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Centauri on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Buena Vista was outmatched by Centauri and fell 59-27. The Demons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Meanwhile, Salida fought the good fight in their overtime contest against The Vanguard School on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coursers. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Coursers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Salida, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Buena Vista took a serious blow against Salida when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-34. Can Buena Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
