Basketball Game Preview: Tarboro Vikings vs. SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars

The Tarboro Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Tarboro's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

Last Saturday, Tarboro didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bertie, but they still walked away with a 79-75 win.

Meanwhile, SouthWest Edgecombe managed to keep up with Washington until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. SouthWest Edgecombe had to suffer through an 83-55 loss at the hands of Washington. The Cougars have struggled against the Pam Pack recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Tarboro pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points over those games. As for SouthWest Edgecombe, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

Tarboro took a serious blow against SouthWest Edgecombe in their previous meeting back in January, falling 77-50. Can Tarboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
