Basketball Recap: Vann Rogers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ascent Classical Academy over Two Roads Charter School

After flying high against Monument Academy last Monday, Ascent Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Ascent Classical Academy Guardians lost 62-40 to the Two Roads Charter School Falcons on Wednesday. The Guardians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Guardians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vann Rogers, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Colberg, who posted nine points and three steals.

Kevyn Feldon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Two Roads Charter School, putting up 26 points and six rebounds. Hunter Liebsock was another key player, earning 14 points and five boards.

Ascent Classical Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Two Roads Charter School, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Ascent Classical Academy will face off against Twin Peaks Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Two Roads Charter School, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Two Roads Charter School Falcons challenge the William Smith Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Two Roads Charter School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
