Basketball Recap: Palisades Skates Past Ballantyne Ridge with Ease

Palisades posted their biggest win since November 26, 2024 on Thursday. They blew past the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves, posting a 65-38 victory. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Wolves are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palisades' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tymon Simpkins led the charge by going 6 of 12 en route to 13 points along with six assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah VanFossen, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Palisades now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Palisades will head out to take on Ardrey Kell at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-46 defeat against South Mecklenburg on the 14th.
