Basketball Game Preview: Luther Lions vs. Holdenville Wolverines

The Luther Lions will face off against the Holdenville Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Luther hasn't scored more than 22 points for seven games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Last Tuesday, Luther was beaten by Community Christian 97-13. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Royals are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Holdenville played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Okemah, falling 53-31. The Wolverines were down 50-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Luther will have to contain Dah?Myah Olden as she made an impact in Holdenville's last game. She posted 13 points. Princess Oneill was another key player, putting up seven points.

Luther's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Holdenville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
