Preview: Crawford County Eagles vs. Marion County Eagles

Crawford County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Crawford County Eagles and the Marion County Eagles will round out the year against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Crawford County struggled with threes on Monday (Stratford Academy had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Crawford County lost to Stratford Academy at home by a decisive 56-37 margin. While losing is never fun, Crawford County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while Stratford Academy is ranked 172nd).

The losing side was boosted by Mareo Slaton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Willis, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Marion County came up short against Manchester on Wednesday and fell 61-50. Marion County has struggled against Manchester recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Crawford County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Marion County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Things could have been worse for Crawford County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-47 loss to Marion County in their previous meeting on December 9th. Can Crawford County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
