Recap: Pearl River Pirates vs. Ossining Pride

Even though the Ossining Pride scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Pearl River Pirates still came out on top. Pearl River slipped by Ossining 59-58. Given Pearl River's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Ossining is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ossining's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Asher Cort, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Kris Singh who scored 24 points. Franklin Santos was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Pearl River's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Ossining, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Pearl River will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Rockland at 6:15 p.m. As for Ossining, they will head out on the road to square off against White Plains at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White Plains will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
