Basketball Game Preview: Baker County Wildcats vs. Parker Braves + Official Tickets

Baker County hasn't had much luck against Parker recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Braves at 7:00 p.m. Baker County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Parker likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Baker County faced off against Beaches Chapel on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 89-65. The contest was close at halftime, but the Wildcats turned on the heat in the second half with 55 points.

Baker County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joel Carver out in front who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 29 points and six boards. Carver is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jamarion Goodman was another key player, dropping a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Baker County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-24, which was the final score in Parker's tilt against Fernandina Beach on Monday. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Parker's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Baker County, their record is now 3-0.

Baker County and Parker were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but Baker County came up empty-handed after a 42-41 defeat. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
