Preview: Dilley Wolves vs. Cotulla Cowboys
The Dilley Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Cotulla Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Dilley and six for Cotulla.
Dilley suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 68-42 defeat at the hands of Natalia.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dorian Aranda, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Benjamin Gonzales was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Cotulla pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 100-57 loss at the hands of Crystal City. Cotulla was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-23.
Dilley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Cotulla, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12.
Dilley was able to grind out a solid win over Cotulla in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 67-57. Does Dilley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cotulla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
