Basketball Recap: Overland Christian Comes Up Short

Overland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Christian Learning Center Mustangs 53-24. The match marked the Eagle's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Christian Learning Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Bean led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Bean has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last three times she's played. Addison Martin was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 15 points.

Overland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Christian Learning Center, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Overland Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Center Place at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Christian Learning Center, they will take on El Dorado Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (El Dorado Christian has won four straight at home, while Christian Learning Center won 12 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
