Volleyball Recap: High Tech Mesa Takes a Loss

If High Tech Mesa was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Coastal Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The High Tech Mesa Thunder took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coastal Academy Stingrays on Tuesday. The Thunder were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stingrays earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

High Tech Mesa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-22.

High Tech Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Coastal Academy, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5.

The future could be bright for both High Tech Mesa and Coastal Academy: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. High Tech Mesa will try to hand Kearny their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th. Meanwhile, Coastal Academy will look to extend San Dieguito Academy's three-game losing streak when they meet at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
