Basketball Recap: White Plains Comes Up Short

White Plains fought the good fight in their overtime match against Fox Lane on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fox Lane Foxes by a score of 53-51. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Foxes are ranked 231st).

White Plains has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Fox Lane, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Looking ahead, White Plains won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lincoln at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. White Plains is facing Lincoln at the right time seeing as Lincoln is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fox Lane, they are taking a road trip to take on Greeley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
