Football Recap: Conemaugh Township Indians vs. West Shamokin Wolves
Conemaugh Township took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the West Shamokin Wolves. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Sam Shaffer had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 52 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Conemaugh Township didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Weber and Dj Bambino.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Township will face off against River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Shamokin, they will challenge Penns Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
