Softball Recap: Galena Triumphs

Galena came out on top against Reeds Spring on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wolves 12-11. Considering the Bears' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Galena's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Reeds Spring, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Galena will square off against Crane at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Reeds Spring, they will host Bakersfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
