Softball Recap: Westview Chargers vs. Trezevant Bears
Westview stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They never let the Trezevant Bears onto the board and left with a 16-0 win. Westview's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Lakyn Rogers made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rogers was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-1 with two runs and a triple.
In other batting news, Addie Roberts and Sarah Byars did most of the damage at the plate: Roberts went 2-for-2 with five RBI, a triple, and a run, while Byars scored three runs while going 2-for-2. McCall Simms was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all two of her plate appearances.
The victory (which was Westview's eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. As for Trezevant, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
