Basketball Recap: Escondido Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Marshawn Pollard and Danny Valadez

Escondido was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to the San Pasqual Golden Eagles at home by a 67-48 margin. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 45-25.

Escondido's loss came despite strong showings from Danny Valadez and Marshawn Pollard. Valadez posted 13 points, while Pollard had ten points. Those ten points gave Pollard a new career-high.

Leading San Pasqual to victory were Christian Sanchez and Osvaldo Gonzalez. Sanchez went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and five boards, while Gonzalez scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Bachoua, who put up six points.

Escondido's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for San Pasqual, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-22.

Escondido has already played their next game, an 87-41 loss against Ramona on the 14th. As for San Pasqual, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 35-34 defeat against Coastal Academy on the 12th.
