Basketball Recap: Micah Becker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bridge to Independence over Pathways

Bridge to Independence has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 83-70 to the Pathways Eagles on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Bridge to Independence's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Becker, who went 8-for-14 en route to 22 points and three steals. Becker has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydan Jeantinord, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Bridge to Independence was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 23 assists in six consecutive contests.

Pathways' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Magock, who posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave Magock a new career-high. Tarik Fadel Mula was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Bridge to Independence's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Pathways, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Bridge to Independence nor Pathways have any future games scheduled.
