The Homefires Flames can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against East Moline Christian and snuck past 35-32.
Colin Chesnut was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. Chesnut is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season.
Homefires' win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for East Moline Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Homefires didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-23 defeat vs. Varsity Opponent on the 8th. East Moline Christian will be playing at home against Galesburg Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Moline Christian is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats at home, meaning Galesburg Christian will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
