Softball Preview: Bethel Jaguars vs. Hercules Titans

Bethel hasn't had much luck against Hercules recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jaguars will head out to challenge the Titans at 4:00 p.m. Bethel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Bethel came up short against Vallejo and fell 9-4.

Bethel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Nuval, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Hercules got the win against Swett on Wednesday by a conclusive 22-9. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten runs or more this season.

Samaya De Alba and Jaida Flores did most of the damage at the plate: De Alba got on base in five of her eight plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles, while Flores went 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI De Alba has posted since back in February. Jazabellaa Cabrera was another key player, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with one RBI.

Hercules has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. As for Bethel, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15-1.
