Cotulla Gets a Boost from Medina in 40-8 Win

Starting off the list is Cotulla's Alex Medina, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Medina rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Cotulla is undefeated when Medina posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Cotulla's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Medina and Cotulla will welcome Young Men's Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kane Stover and Co. Win Seventh in a Row

Poth picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kane Stover. Stover was dynamite, rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 56 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Poth pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Stover's next match is against Natalia on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Gonzales Posts Huge Game in 21-19 Win

Garet Gonzales put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

If history really does repeat itself, Gonzales might just drop another big game when he faces off against Dilley on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Gonzales saw the Wolves), he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.

Big Game from Nixon-Thompson As Karnes City Fell 47-14

Karnes City had to settle for second on Friday, but Savion Nixon-Thompson sure wasn't going down easily. Dilley had no answer to Nixon-Thompson as he rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. Nixon-Thompson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 61 yards.

On the year, Nixon-Thompson has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 114.1 passing yards per game.

Poth Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Major Luna

Major Luna was instrumental in extending Poth's winning streak to seven on Friday. Luna was dynamite, throwing for 270 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.

This year, Luna has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 200.1 passing yards per game.
