You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Spencer County's strategy against Mercer County on Friday. The Spencer County Bears blew past the Mercer County Titans 44-18. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Mercer County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cardin Sickles posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Spencer County's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Mercer County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-14.

Spencer County will venture away from home to take on Shelby County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercer County, they will host West Jessamine at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
