Softball Game Preview: Barrington Fillies/Broncos vs. Lockport Porters

The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will take on the Lockport Porters at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Barrington comes in on five and Lockport on 17.

Barrington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over St. Charles East.

Meanwhile, Lockport faced Bradley-Bourbonnais in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Porters didn't even let the Boilermakers on the board, marking the Porters' second-straight 2-0 shutout. Give the Porters' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Not much got past Kelcie McGraw, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Bradley-Bourbonnais off the board. McGraw has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lockport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Way, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Lockport's win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Barrington, their win bumped their record up to 34-3-1.
