Basketball Recap: Bishop McGuinness Comes Up Short

If Bishop McGuinness was feeling good fresh off their 71-27 takedown of Ada last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The match between the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish and the Piedmont Wildcats didn't end well, with the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish falling 63-46. The Fighting Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Despite the loss, Bishop McGuinness still got an impressive performance from Hudson Mccormick, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 21 points. That's the most points Mccormick has posted since back in December of 2024. Brody Parks was another key player, putting up six points.

Bishop McGuinness has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Piedmont, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Bishop McGuinness didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-42 victory against Ponca City on the 24th. Piedmont has also already played their next match (against Northwest Classen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
