Basketball Recap: Sulligent Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sulligent was the 71-60 winner over Hubbertville when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils fell 57-53 to the Lions on Monday.

Hubbertville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Brand, who shot 46% from the field en route to 14 points and eight boards. Brand is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Kane Rushing was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Sulligent has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Hubbertville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sulligent will head out to challenge Red Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hubbertville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sumiton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
