Football Recap: Groves Falls to West Laurens in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Groves kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the West Laurens Raiders, falling 49-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

West Laurens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Cummings out in front who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cummings showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards. West Laurens also got a significant boost from Branden Brooks, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Groves didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 65-6 defeat against Jenkins on the 29th. As for West Laurens, they have also already played their next contest, a 28-22 victory against North Clayton on the 29th.
