Recap: Pacheco Panthers vs. Ceres Bulldogs
The Pacheco Panthers suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Ceres 61-31. Pacheco was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-11.
Ceres was led to victory by Manuel Ortega and Carey Mastin. Ortega scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Mastin scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals. Mastin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Brown, who scored ten points.
Pacheco has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Ceres, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacheco will challenge Mountain House at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Ceres, they will head out on the road to square off against Johansen at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
