Volleyball Recap: Southwest Takes a Loss

Southwest lost against Palmetto last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Victoria Soto paced Southwest's offense, picking up six kills. Soto got some help from Isabela Perez and her seven assists. Finally, Bianca Bour kept Southwest's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Palmetto, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Southwest and Palmetto will both be playing Downtown Doral the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Dolphins at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
