Basketball Recap: San Jose Prep Takes Down Rocky Bayou Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but San Jose Prep had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-27 victory over the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights.

San Jose Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joy Wright, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jania Ervin, who earned 15 points.

San Jose Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Looking ahead, San Jose Prep will challenge The First Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The First Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. Rocky Bayou Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
