Baseball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Rebels vs. Hampton Bulldogs

The Patrick Henry Rebels will head out to take on the Hampton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Patrick Henry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Patrick Henry is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Rural Retreat 20-4 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Aidan Monahan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Monahan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kolby Hicks was a standout: he went 5-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hank Rutherford, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Patrick Henry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hampton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Johnson County on Thursday.

Patrick Henry's record is now 8-3. As for Hampton, their record now sits at 14-11.
