Recap: Blacklick Valley Vikings vs. Harmony Area Owls

The Blacklick Valley Vikings's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Harmony Area and snuck past 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Blacklick Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gino DiPaolo led the charge by scoring 14 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Reba, who scored 16 points.

Blacklick Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Harmony Area, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blacklick Valley will take on Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shanksville Stonycreek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Thursday. As for Harmony Area, they will be playing at home against Moshannon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th.
