Waynesburg Central put another one in the bag  on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with  a   6-2  win over the Washington Prexies. The six-run effort marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring  game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
 Alex VanSickle was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Derek Turcheck was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Waynesburg Central's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Washington,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-10.
 Waynesburg Central and Washington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 50th) will meet Carmichaels (ranked 272nd)  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile,  Washington will  take on  Jeannette  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  advantage  (90 vs. 343).
