Volleyball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Starts Season with Win Against New Philadelphia

Tuscarawas Valley took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the New Philadelphia Quakers by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

While Tuscarawas Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: New Philadelphia scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-27, 25-21.

Leah Howard was nothing short of spectacular: she had 19 digs and four aces. Those 19 digs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addi Witham, who had ten digs.

Tuscarawas Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Conotton Valley on the 20th. As for New Philadelphia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Ashland on the 21st.
