Basketball Game Preview: Compass Academy vs. Stanton Buffaloes

Compass Academy is 1-8 against Stanton since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Compass Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stanton Buffaloes at 8:00 p.m. Compass Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Stanton will be coming in after a loss.

Compass Academy will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Crane, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Compass Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Crane on Friday, sneaking past 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Compass Academy has posted since December 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, Stanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Denver City, falling 74-54. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1364th, while the Mustangs are ranked 526th).

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Compass Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.
