Softball Recap: Columbia's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Columbia nor Governor Livingston made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Highlanders. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Columbia pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Governor Livingston, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Columbia will head out to take on Nutley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Governor Livingston, they will welcome Scotch Plains-Fanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Highlanders surely won't give up without a fight.
