Soccer Game Preview: Bullard vs. Riverdale

The Bullard Knights will challenge the Riverdale Cowboys at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bullard's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lindsay 1-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Cardinals are ranked 24th).

Bullard's one-goal win came courtesy of Eli Vera, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Riverdale made sure to put some goals up on the board against Coalinga on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Horned Toads.

Riverdale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Bullard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2-2.
